Wells Fargo can suck my big.......

I have to vent. I am extremely pissed off at Wells Fargo Bank. I recently opened an account there because it was convenient. Some of my clients bank there, and if I couldn't get to my credit union, it made it easy to cash their checks. I hardly use the account but for that purpose. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to have my Netflix fees deducted from that checking, rather than putting it on my credit card and paying finance charges on it. I made sure to have enough money to cover the Netflix fees and haven't paid attention to the account since.
Well, last night, for whatever reason, I decided to check my account on-line. Imagine my surprise to see that my account was negative a significant amount. It appears that Netflix charged my account twice. Now, this is not Wells Fargo's fault. However, when the second charge caused my account to go negative, I never received any notification from the bank informing me of this. So in addition to the $35.00 fee for the initial negative balance, I have been charged $5.00 a day for over a week for a "reoccurring negative balance." WTF?
I am pissed. What pisses me off even more, is that I supposedly have on-line alerts from Wells Fargo, and should have been emailed immediately that my account was negative. If that would have happened I could have taken care of the matter, and then dealt with Netflix about the double charge, but now I'm out a bunch of money, almost enough to make my bike payment. Uggghhhhh!
Okay, now that I have vented to all of you, I can go to the bank on Monday, and in my sweetest manner explain the situation and try to get them to reverse some fees. Maybe I'll wear some of that perfume that seemed to help Ann land her job! :)

I feel your anger girl. My pet peeve is poor service where my money is concerned. I don't have much as it is, I certainly don't need someone else helping me lose it! I would pursue getting the charges reversed and clearing your account back to what it's supposed to be. Either that or, convenient or not, they wouldn't be seeing me in that bank again. Sorry your having to deal with it, but hopefully it will turn out in your favor.

That sucks. Many years ago We switched to Wells Fargo, from TCF because we had savings and checking at TCF. Similar case, but TCF was supposed to automatically transfer from savings, to our checking in case of an overdraw to illiminate overdraw fees. This was an advertised perk at tcf at the time for having both accounts with them. They never did trnasfer the funds, and never notified us of the overdraw, and we racked up some serious penalty fees. They would not work with us, or reduce fees or anything, so we switched to W.F.. Maybe grass isn't greener on the other side.

I sure hope they take care of you.

Yes, I can see where that'd be damned annoying. But, in my experience most banks are pretty good at reversing fees when you have an otherwise good history with them. I'm sure they'll take care of it.

Just one thing though... your big what???

Well, I went to the bank today. I sat down with a very polite banker named Diana. First I calmly, and sweetly explained the situation, she basically said, "What are you a moron, don't you monitor your account?" (I'm paraphrasing.)
Next, I explained the situation again, this time more angry than calm. She said, "Well, it isn't the bank's error. There isn't anything I can do." (Not paraphrasing.)
I asked her exactly how much I needed to make my account at a zero balance and then I would like to close my account, thank you very much!
She told me that she wanted to talk to the manager, because she wasn't sure how the email alerts were supposed to work. She comes back and says that I need to go to the branch where I originially opened the account, maybe they could help me.
At this point I am so frustrated and angry that I burst into tears at her desk, she hands me a tissue and says, "I'll be right back."
She comes back and tells me that she can reverse half of the fees. I can live with that, it's better than nothing. I felt like an idiot for crying in the bank, but all I could think was, "How am I going to make my bike payment now?" Wow, I sure am a tough biker chick. LOL.

BTW...since Joker asked.....my big
TOE!

Bank one screwed up our mortage payments twice.
That was the start of the end and we had to sell a year later. I don't like banks and I don't want the convinence of direct deposit. they always seem to find a way to get their hands in there.

Bastards! This is exactly why I spend all my money right when I get it. That way no one can go screwing with it.

I'm with you Big Daddy, banks seem to make sure they're taken care of.

BB-I'm glad you got a least half. Knowing myself, I would definitely fight on with Netflix.

Yep, definitely raise i HUGE ruckkus with Netflix! And don't worry about being a tough biker chick, you are already tougher than the vast majority of women out there just because you are willing to ride upfront! You go girl!

I agree with Dave - spend it when you get it or save it in your mattress. Cause if the Government finds out you got it they will redistribute it to others. Who do you think is going to pay for all these programs? The rich? Honestly ..............
