Just a little update

This is going to be short and sweet, but I just wanted to post a little update. I got my motorcycle permit last week. Whoo hoo!
I went online to enroll in the Basic Riders Course, but the one that is closest to us doesn't have any open classes until November...Ugghhh. But then somebody told me just to enroll, then go up there and if someone doesn't show up then I could get it sooner. So I think I will try that.
I got out on the bike a little bit on Monday. I was more nervous than the first time, but I think it's because Riley was there watching me, and I know he would freak if something happened. After awhile I got more comfortable, and I'm feeling pretty good with my turns, after some great advice from my hot motorcycle man!
Anyways, that is pretty much where it's at right now. I will post a better post in a few days, I've just been super busy with all sorts of crap! :)

I'm so glad you're getting comfortable with your bike before the course. I'm really happy for you, and maybe just a little bit jealous! ;) But more happy than jealous!

Hopefully I'll be taking my course this fall.

Hi! Just got back home late yesterday and finished putting up my first post about my trip. Now I'm making the blog rounds.

I love the color of your ride - you look good on her. You're doing exactly the right thing by taking baby steps in a place with lots of room and no traffic. White knuckled or not, I'm sure Dave is a fine teacher. Remember, the Sporty is top heavy compared to the Big Twins, and as such is harder to ride in some ways. When you master it, you'll be able to ride any Harley, even an Ultra Classic.

GL on getting in to the Basic course earlier. That's a good idea - there's always someone who doesn't show. Before you know it, you'll be tooling around on her like it was nothing.

Take your time and be safe!

Great idea to be a "stand-by". It is very common for someone not to show...or to not have the proper gear to be allowed to participate!

Jay thought I was pushing it when I insisted on getting familiar with my bike before the course, but he eventually realized that I was right about taking baby steps instead of trying to go from zero to a giant leap in only a weekend!

Keep it up, girl. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Ride safe! (How long have you been waiting for someone to say that to YOU?

I'm glad you're out enjoying riding! I'm going to be getting my permit soon... depending on if/when this hurricane hits.

*Still a little jealous :-P

Mr. M- I am enjoying it very much! "Ride on woman!"...I love it!

Ann- Yeah, but your bike is being built with love..it's going to be awesome when it's done!

Joker- Thanks. I'm not usually a big fan of the color red, but I love this color. Dave is a great teacher. Even though he's a nervous wreck, he is very patient with me.

Mrs. RC- I've been waiting too long to hear those words. :)

Connie- Good luck on getting the permit. Hope you guys are doing okay and the hurricanes miss you.

Hot motorcycle man? I'm sure you don't mean Dave. Did I ever tell you about the time he jumped off the roof of the garage with a beach umbrella, hoping he would magically float down like Mary Poppins? It was great. Or the time he managed to nearly burn down the house, and start his foot on fire?

Congrats on the permit. Did you just have to take a written test? I had never operated a motorcycle until the day I started the Safety class. It was the most intense weekend I've ever had. I stressed alot because I REALLY wanted my endorsement. I passed with flying colors, so you'll do fine!

Woo Hoo! I'm so proud of you! Getting nervous is something you'll still do from time to time. I still get nervous sometimes! Just depends what's around you! While I was off the net these past few days, I thought of you the most. I kept thinking I was missing your pics and posts of your baby steps while your getting to know your pretty baby. I am glad you took the first step of getting signed up for your rider's course. Way to go! I'm glad to be back! I missed ya!

I'm going to ditto what Mr. M and Mrs. RC said: Ride on woman and ride safe!

Brett- LOL. I heard about him starting himself on fire, but I never heard the Mary Poppins story. Feel free to share any Dave stories any time. :) Hey, when's Nicole getting her bike?

Becky- Thanks. I'm not sure how it is there, but here you can take the written test for your permit, and then you can either take a skills test at the DMV for your endorsement, or pass the riders course and get it.

Lady R- Welcome back! We sure missed you! On Mondays I always check your blog first looking for the pic of the week, and this Monday just wasn't the same. :)

thanks for the bike comment to Brett. I will probably be 50 before I get my bike. I told him I want one when I graduate from college in three years. We will see what happens.

Nicole- I definately think after you graduate you should get one, you deserve it.
