The journey begins

Ok everyone, here goes. I realize my page may be a little boring right now, but just give me some time ok.
I have done a lot of thinking the last few months and I have decided that I have spent enough time on the back of a bike. It is about time for me to move up front. This blog will be devoted to my journey from start to finish...ok maybe not finish, but how about from start to wherever it leads me.
I have been talking a lot lately about wanting to get my own bike, and of course now that I am really serious about it, I am going to have to wait due to financial reasons, oh well, what can you do. I am however going to take the basic riders course the end of next month. I am really looking forward to the course and just hope that I will love it as much as I think I will.
Just to give you a little bit of an idea how much I want to ride...I have been having dreams about it, seriously OK. In my dreams I feel like I'm flying, but my wheels are still on the ground. I love it, and can't wait for it to happen in real life. I also have been to visit "my bike" at the dealership about five times in the last week. She is a beauty. New '07 black 1200R. I didn't much care for her until I sat down and pulled her upright, and then it felt like we became one. Okay, I know maybe I am getting carried away, but I know from reading some of your posts, some of you can relate. I would love to just go and ride her off into the sunset, but being the responsible parent I am, I feel like taking care of my son's need to be sheltered, fed, and all that crap must come first. LOL. Anyway, if it is meant to be she will still be there when I am ready.
I look forward to sharing my experience with all of you, and hope you enjoy my road trip from start to wherever.....

Your page may be a little plain for now, but you got off to a great start..."Green" is a great color (and a great last name too)!

Let me be the first to send congrats on beginning your journey. I am sure that it will lead you to all kinds of fabulous places! (When I started to ride--at age 36--that's when I began to live) :-)

Welcome to the wonderful world of motorcycle riding and blogging. Hey we all started with a first post. Just like Mrs. RC I can't wait to go along on this ride. After all isn't the Journey really the Destination?

Mrs. RC & Ronman- Thank you. I am very excited to see where the road will lead me. I never would have imagined that this would be an avenue I would be interested in, but I guess that is the beautiful thing about life..we never know what it has in store for us. Thanks again for the encouragment!

Ronman- From reading your posts, it sounds like you are not too far from where my parents live. I love the pictures and I am going to try to check out some of the places you mentioned the next time I am there.

Welcome Bec!
It's amazing where a bike can take you (on the road and in your soul). I never imagined what owning a bike would do for me. Enjoy the ride and I look forward to going on the journey with you.

Welcome to our little blogging family Beckah.

I think the best stories are the personal journeys of discovery we make on two wheels. I'm looking forward to following yours as far as you care to take it.

Remember what I wrote you on Dave's blog about the Motor Company's financial situation. I really think if you wait till July, you'll be able to get a great bike for a great deal.

The world is waiting...let's ride!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I have enjoyed your comments from Dave's blog and like Lady R said, I feel like I already know you all. I hope none of you mind, but I linked to your blogs. :)

Joker- I am definately keeping in mind what you told me, July actually works better in my time frame anyways, so thanks for the tip! And where we live, our best weather is in the fall, so I will still be able to ride for awhile. :)
Thanks again!

I just got finished watching the movie "Dan in Real Life". The ending just seems quite fitting to this new journey upon which you embark...don't plan out your life, plan to be surprised.

Mimi- Thanks. I heard you are coming for Hollister, that is so cool. Dave and I will be there. It isn't far from us at all so we try to go every year. It's usually a good time.

Mrs RC- I love that movie, and that saying. :)
